Rotaract club Ajara Badagry inaugurated Rotaract Godonu Rebecca as the 13th president of the club at the local government secretariat on Saturday.

The imaginative President said she appreciates the opportunity of being inaugurated as the 13th president of the club. "It’s a great pleasure, to serve humanity this is very important and good to save lives. It goes a long way and it has a lot to do with people's life. Service to humanity saves a life it’s more like doing God’s work."


"Badagry people should be expecting a lot in my year as the Rotaract president, we have several projects like water project and I’m pleading with Badagry people to support us to achieve this, we also have plans to donate waste baskets and several other projects."

Speaking with the immediate past president of Rotaract Omitogun Henuho Rasaq he said "in Rotary Rotaract there is always continuity the president has the chance to serve for a year within that period he or she is expected to carry out community projects."

Rotaractor Waheed Oluwaseun Rotaract club Ota, rotaractors, Rotaractor Godonu Rebecca, immediate past president Henuho Omitogun and rotaractor Kusa.


He gave a recount of his year as the President "During my period I carried out some activities which include a membership seminar, and community outreach at Ipokia where we visited the Local Government Chairman, donated sanitary pads and first aid buss to two schools, and also a courtesy visit to HRM. Isa Adeniyi Olaniyi the Oni Ipokia of Ipokia Kingdom."


"We also took our members to several historical sites in Badagry and distributed books to Ajara grammar school, we partnered internationally with Rotaract club king Kusa University Uganda and Rotaract club of Oyo central District 91142 to donate plastic chairs and tables to Ajara police station," He said.


He also collaborated with the polio chairman to carry out Polio awareness and vaccination in Ajara communities. There’s the need to continue what he did that is why a new president has to be inaugurated.


"I’m using the medium to tell the president to continue the good work we have been doing as a humanitarian service," Henuho said.


Adding that his years were challenging, "I was working in Bornu State, and most times I’m not available".


Badagry people need to join Rotaract because there is a need to spread our tentacle to know the challenges of the community.


The guest speaker Barista Abayomi Medemaku said "the leadership skill I have today was got when I was young which has brought me this far, if you want to make it far in life try to volunteer for services which will open doors for greater things."
