The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) recently conducted an inspection visit to the Lagos State School of Basic and Advanced Studies (LASUSBAS) at its Badagry campus in Lagos State.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, aimed to assess the institution’s readiness for the upcoming examinations.

JUPEB deployed a two-member team to evaluate key facilities at LASUSBAS, including:
-Classroom Conditions: Ensuring adequate and conducive learning environments for students.
-Laboratory Equipment: Assessing the availability and functionality of lab tools for practical examinations.
-CCTV and Security Architecture: Reviewing surveillance systems and security measures to ensure a safe and secure examination process.
-General Environment: Evaluating the overall cleanliness and suitability of the campus for hosting examinations.

The inspection is part of JUPEB’s standard procedure to ensure that affiliated institutions meet the required standards.
During the visit, Prof. Yunus Dauda, Director of LASUSBAS, expressed gratitude to Lagos State University (LASU) for its unwavering support in maintaining the institution’s standards.
“What we have been able to achieve here is not without the support of the able Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, who is a listening leader ready to put all necessary things in place to the satisfaction of the students,” Prof. Dauda stated.
He highlighted the collaborative efforts between LASUSBAS and LASU in ensuring that the institution remains a center of excellence for basic and advanced studies.
The inspection underscores JUPEB’s commitment to maintaining high standards in its affiliated institutions. By ensuring that facilities and security measures are up to par, JUPEB aims to provide a seamless and credible examination experience for students.
