PDP Badagry Leadership Reaffirms Loyalty Amid Defection Rumors, Vows to Strengthen Party Unity

The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Badagry Local Government has strongly dismissed rumors of defections among its key members, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the party. 


In a well-attended meeting held today, top party leaders and stakeholders declared their loyalty to the PDP, dispelling speculations of internal divisions. The gathering, which included over 102 prominent leaders, sent a clear message of unity and determination ahead of future elections.


The communique issued after the meeting emphasized the party’s solidarity, with leaders denouncing what they described as "false narratives" aimed at destabilizing the PDP in Badagry. "PDP remains our party, and we stand firmly behind its principles and leadership," the statement read. 


Among the high-profile attendees were Hon. Setonji Koshoedo, PDP Deputy National Secretary; Hon. Phillips Aivoji, Lagos State PDP Chairman and other influential figures such as Prince Yomin Ogungbe and Chief Olaomo Ikufisile.


The meeting also featured strong statements from councilorship candidates and ward leaders, who pledged to mobilize grassroots support for the party. 


Barr. Medemaku Abayomi Noah, Chairmanship candidates, assured members that the PDP in Badagry remains a formidable force, despite external pressures. "We are not distracted by baseless rumors; our focus is on strengthening the party and delivering good governance to our people," he declared.


Political analysts suggest that this show of unity is a strategic move to counter recent opposition propaganda and reassure party members ahead of crucial elections. 


With prominent leaders like Hon. Seyon Hunyinbo Former state ex-officio and Rep Candidate, Alhaji Alani Ajose, Chief Femi Hunga ( Acting Chairman, PDP Badagry LGA), Elder James Joseph, Chief Sunday Hunwi, Hon Tunde Hunpatin, Alhaji Hassan Gafar, Alhaji Kazeem Kappo and Chief Benjamin Akovoyon in attendance, the PDP Badagry chapter demonstrated its readiness to consolidate its influence in Lagos State politics. The leadership also hinted at upcoming grassroots mobilization programs to further solidify their support base.


As the 2027 elections draw closer, the PDP in Badagry appears determined to present a united front, silencing detractors and reinforcing its position as a key opposition force in Lagos. 


The communique concluded with a call for all members to remain steadfast, assuring them that the party’s leadership is committed to transparency, inclusivity, and victory in future polls. With such a strong declaration, the PDP Badagry chapter has set the stage for an intense political battle in the coming years.
