Hon. Hunpe Babatunde, The newly inaugurated Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, has taken decisive steps toward fulfilling his administration’s 100-day development promises, embarking on an extensive inspection tour of critical community projects.
The tour, which covered the deteriorating Pota Primary Health Center in Ward I and the stalled Ajara-Vetho Townhall in Ward E, signals a proactive approach to governance, with immediate interventions and long-term solutions pledged.
At the Pota Primary Health Center, a vital healthcare facility plagued by infrastructural decay, Hon. Hunpe directed immediate short-term fixes, including generator repairs, reconnection to the national grid, and environmental cleanup.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the facility’s condition, he emphasized his administration’s commitment to ensuring functional healthcare access. “I came here to see things for myself, not to rely on second-hand reports,” he stated. “This facility must serve our people effectively while we prepare for a full-scale remodel.”
Hon. Hunpe assured residents that the Pota Primary Health Center would undergo a complete transformation within his first 100 days in office. The project will include modern medical equipment installation, structural upgrades, and improved service delivery to meet healthcare demands in the community. This move aligns with broader efforts to strengthen Badagry’s health infrastructure and reduce medical tourism outside the local government.
The inspection team also visited the Ajara-Vetho Townhall, an essential community hub whose completion has been delayed. Hon. Hunpe announced that a non-destructive structural integrity test would be conducted to assess the building’s safety before proceeding with final construction. “This townhall is critical for community engagement and development,” he said. “We will ensure it is completed and commissioned within our 100-day timeline.”
