The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clinched a decisive victory in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) as Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon (APK) emerged winner of the keenly contested chairmanship election held on Saturday.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) officially declared Hon. Kumayon the winner after he secured a landslide 28,799 votes, defeating rival candidates by a wide margin. The resounding victory underscores the strong grassroots support for the APC in Olorunda LCDA, Badagry.

The announcement triggered jubilant celebrations across the council area, with party members, community leaders, and residents hailing the outcome as a reflection of the people’s will. Supporters described Kumayon’s win as a reward for his proven track record, accessibility, and commitment to grassroots development.

"This victory is not just for the APC but for every resident of Olorunda LCDA. It shows that our people believe in progressive governance and trust Hon. Kumayon to deliver on his promises," said a prominent party chieftain.

With his victory, Hon. Kumayon is set to assume office in the coming days, with expectations high for infrastructure upgrades, youth empowerment programs, and improved healthcare and education services. Residents have expressed optimism that his administration will prioritize transparency, inclusive governance, and sustainable development.

As preparations for the swearing-in ceremony commence, all eyes are on the incoming chairman to fulfill his campaign pledges and consolidate APC’s dominance in Olorunda LCDA. Political analysts suggest this victory further strengthens the APC’s hold in Lagos State ahead of future elections.
