The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Onilude Olusegun Adeniran, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, following his decisive victory in the recent local government elections.
In a statement released on Sunday by his media aide, Kriko Augustine, Hon. Onilude praised Hunpe’s emergence as a testament to his unwavering dedication, leadership, and the trust of the people.
Hon. Onilude likened the transition to the passing of midnight marking the end of one administration and the dawn of another. He expressed confidence that Hunpe’s tenure would bring renewed energy and purpose to Badagry’s development.
"Your victory is no coincidence but the fulfillment of a vision set by our late elder statesmen, Baba Sunny Akinsanya Ajose and Chief Moses Hungbo Owolabani, who saw in you the qualities of a true leader," Onilude stated.
With 27,442 votes affirming Hunpe’s mandate, Onilude emphasized that the Chairman-Elect’s competence, integrity, and deep-rooted commitment to Badagry make him the ideal successor.
"Leadership is not just about serving but ensuring a worthy successor takes the mantle. Hon. Hunpe is a man of capacity, character, and vision. Badagry is in safe hands," he declared.
On behalf of his family and the progressive community in Badagry, Onilude urged residents to support the incoming administration. He expressed optimism that Hunpe would build on existing achievements while forging his own legacy of growth and prosperity.
"May your tenure bring peace, progress, and greater opportunities to our beloved Badagry," he concluded.
As Hon. Hunpe prepares to take office, stakeholders anticipate key policy directions, particularly in infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment. Residents remain hopeful for sustained development under the new leadership.
