GOC Decorates 7 Newly Promoted Army Officers in Jos, Urges Dedication & Professionalism

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba, Jos, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, has decorated seven newly promoted officers in a ceremony held at the Cantonment on Friday night.  

The officers, recently elevated from the rank of Second Lieutenant to Captain, were honored in an event attended by senior military officials, families, and well-wishers.  

Addressing the newly decorated officers, Maj.-Gen. Oyinlola emphasized the importance of professionalism, discipline, and dedication in their new roles.  

“You must remain committed to your duties, as the military prioritizes career growth and professional development,” he stated. “Maintain high standards of regimentation and discipline these are key pillars of military service.”

The GOC also advised the officers on personal development and prudent financial management, urging them to uphold the trust placed in them by the Nigerian Army.  

Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, Captain Umar Isah expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for their promotion.  

He pledged their unwavering loyalty and commitment to the service of the nation, vowing to meet the expectations of their elevated ranks.  

Maj.-Gen. Oyinlola also acknowledged the sacrifices made by military families, thanking them for their steadfast support while their loved ones serve the country.  

He called on Nigerians to continue supporting the armed forces in their mission to ensure national security and stability.  

The event concluded with celebrations among officers, their families, and colleagues, marking a significant milestone in their military careers.
