Led by Halilu Awesu, the District Rotaract Representative (DRR), on July 22nd 2025, the initiative aimed to support new and expectant mothers with critical supplies and knowledge. "As a district, we must unite to achieve Rotary’s goals," Awesu stated. "Today, we’re not just distributing kits but also educating mothers on proper nutrition and childcare to ensure healthier futures."

"We partner with organizations that share our vision, and Rotaract’s dedication aligns perfectly with our mission," she said.

Rtr. Lawal Adekunbi, the Maternal and Child Health project Chairperson and project lead, highlighted the distribution of sanitary pads, diapers, baby socks, water bottles, and other necessities. "Beyond material support, we educated mothers on self-care and infant nutrition," Adekumbi noted. She also expressed gratitude to all contributors who ensured the project’s success.

Mrs. Lawal Maraim, one of the beneficiaries, thanked Rotaract for the initiative. "This gesture shows that mothers are remembered and valued," she said. Another mother, Oluwaseun Ajakowe, shared her excitement: "I feel blessed! This will encourage more women to visit general hospitals and seek early medical care."

Rtr. Peter Aloya, President of the Rotaract Club of Ota, praised the initiative’s impact. "Being part of this life-changing project is fulfilling. It’s crucial for youths to engage in such efforts to build a healthier society,"* he remarked.
