Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph, Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, will officially mark the close of its term with a grand Valedictory Ceremony and Commissioning of Completed Projects on Thursday, 24th July 2025.
The event, set to take place at the Council Secretariat, Kankon, will showcase a legacy of infrastructural advancement and responsive governance, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to sustainable development.
According to a press release signed by **Solomon ZOSU**, Senior Special Assistant on Information, Tourism & Special Works, the ceremony is more than a farewell it is a testament to promises kept and progress delivered. The administration, widely praised for its people-centered policies, will unveil multiple completed projects, each strategically designed to uplift communities and improve quality of life across Badagry West.
The day’s activities will begin with an official project tour at 10:00 AM, allowing stakeholders and residents to witness firsthand the tangible impacts of the Gbenu administration. Among the highlights is the newly constructed Primary Health Centre in Bapo, a fully equipped facility set to revolutionize rural healthcare access. Additionally, the Boglo Way Solar Streetlights Project promises safer nighttime mobility and enhanced economic activity, while the Sito Gbethrome Secondary School renovation underscores the administration’s investment in education.
Further stops include the Apa Community Cemetery, a meticulously planned burial ground respecting diverse religious and cultural practices, and the Customary Court in Kankon, which strengthens grassroots justice delivery. The tour will culminate at the newly built Administrative Office Complex, a symbol of efficiency and modern governance.
Beyond the fanfare, this event serves as a public accountability exercise, allowing citizens to assess the administration’s deliverables. In an era where governance is often criticized for unmet promises, the Gbenu administration is setting a benchmark by ensuring that projects are not just initiated but completed and functional before the handover.
Residents, traditional leaders, civil society groups, and well-wishers are invited to join this historic occasion. The ceremony is not just for the outgoing leadership but for the entire Badagry West community a moment to reflect on collective progress and the foundation laid for future growth.
As the Gbenu administration prepares to exit, its legacy of infrastructure, transparency, and service remains undeniable. This valedictory event is a reminder that leadership is measured not by years in office but by lasting impact.
