Netizens are calling out Pastor Paul Adefarasin, senior pastor of House on the Rock and convener of The Experience Worship, to clarify what he was holding in a viral video where he confronted a car spotter filming his Range Rover.
The clergyman faced backlash after footage surfaced showing him holding a pistol-like object while reprimanding the spotter. Despite public scrutiny, Adefarasin has repeatedly denied carrying or pointing a firearm at anyone.
In a Saturday statement, Adefarasin insisted, “I want to assure you that was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone.” He reiterated this during his Sunday sermon, expressing hurt over being “falsely accused of carrying and pointing a firearm at an aggressive content creator.”
However, he avoided disclosing what the object was, instead blaming media and bloggers for sensationalizing the incident for profit. “The enticement of the enemy is always the love of money… What we witnessed was clickbaiters chasing revenue,” he claimed.
Social media users remain unconvinced, demanding transparency. On Instagram, @Verdcy_giane criticized his vague response: “You could have easily described what you held and owned up… We are human, and we make mistakes.”
X (formerly Twitter) users also weighed in. @Jiduwah argued, “There was no aggression from the content creator only one aggressor: the one who slowed down his car, threatened, and showed a gun-like object.” Meanwhile, @drpenking questioned why Adefarasin avoided specifics: “He didn’t say it was a taser, stun gun, or pepper spray… Because experts would debunk it.”
