Tinubu’s 2027 Power Play: Tinubu Dumps Ganduje as APC Chairman in Shake-Up, Clears Path for Kwankwaso’s Defection

In a stunning political move, President Bola Tinubu has forced out Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), paving the way for former Kano Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to join the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ganduje’s sudden resignation, confirmed by his spokesperson on Friday, has sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s political scene.

While some reports claim health reasons, insiders reveal Tinubu orchestrated the exit to strengthen APC’s grip on Kano a crucial battleground state.

"Ganduje lacked Kwankwaso’s influence. Tinubu needs Kano to win in 2027," a presidency source disclosed.

The ex-chairman’s tenure was plagued by internal crises, including a recent rift with Vice President Kashim Shettima after Ganduje endorsed Tinubu for 2027 without mentioning Shettima as running mate.
