Three men, Daramola Babatunde (38), Shaibu Ahmed (35), and Isiaku Yinusa (35), were arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for allegedly engaging in a violent public brawl that led to property damage worth ₦200,000.

The defendants, whose addresses remain unknown, faced a three-count charge including public fighting, breach of peace, and malicious damage. All three pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to prosecutor Sodiq Adeniyi, the incident occurred on June 20 at approximately 1:00 p.m. in Odo Ayedun-Ekiti. The trio allegedly caused a public disturbance, leading to the destruction of a truck windshield valued at ₦200,000 owned by one of the defendants, Shaibu Ahmed.

The charges fall under Sections 67, 181(1)(d), and 363 of the Ekiti State Criminal Law (2021). The prosecution requested an adjournment to review the case file and prepare witnesses.

The defendants’ lawyer, Opeyemi Esan, appealed for bail, assuring the court they would not abscond. Chief Magistrate Dolamu Babalogbon granted each defendant bail at ₦200,000, with one surety in the same amount.

The case has been adjourned to July 24 for further hearing.
