Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has issued a strong warning to All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship and councillorship candidates ahead of the July 12 Local Government Elections, urging them not to underestimate the contest.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday where he presented APC flags to all party candidates, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the need for vigorous campaigning to maintain the ruling party’s dominance in Lagos.

The governor called for unity among party members, stressing that candidates must actively engage voters to secure victory.

"We must validate our strength in Lagos. Knock on every door, seek every vote, and let the people see the leaders they are voting for. Don’t take anything for granted," Sanwo-Olu declared.

He also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s influence, stating, "Our leader, President Tinubu, has asked me to thank you all for holding his political base strong. Now, we must deliver once again."

Addressing post-primary disputes, the governor urged aggrieved members to prioritize party loyalty, saying, "There will always be issues when many aspire, but the party’s decision is supreme."

With Lagos being an APC stronghold, Sanwo-Olu’s message underscores the party’s determination to sweep the LG polls through relentless grassroots mobilization.
