President Bola Tinubu has acknowledged the widespread criticism against him but insists he remains committed to protecting all Nigerians including those who "hate him like hell."
Speaking at a stakeholders' meeting in Benue State on Wednesday, Tinubu addressed his detractors head-on, declaring, “Not everyone will like you in politics; they hate me like hell too. But I’m here, I am the President.”
In a bold stance, he added, “Under a democratic regime, I promised to protect my abusers and accusers. Abuse me all you want.”
The President also directed security agencies to intensify efforts in apprehending criminals behind the recent **Yelewata massacre**, which left hundreds dead. Expressing frustration over the lack of arrests, Tinubu’s delayed response to the tragedy had previously drawn public outrage, prompting him to cancel a scheduled project inauguration in Kaduna to visit the affected region.
Tinubu’s remarks highlight the tension between public perception and presidential responsibility. The Yelewata massacre underscores ongoing security challenges in Nigeria. His defiant tone signals a refusal to back down amid growing discontent.
