DRRE Senu Awesu Leads Plans for Rotaract District 9111 2025-2026, Empowerment, Peace, and Growth

Rotaract District 9111 has set the stage for an impactful Rotary Year 2025-2026 with a dynamic Incoming District Officer Retreat, where incoming leaders presented bold plans under the leadership of District Rotaract Representative-Elect (DRRE) Senu Awesu.


The retreat, held in Ikotun, Lagos highlighted key focus areas, including skill empowerment, peacebuilding, and district expansion, reinforcing the theme "Unite for Good."


Incoming District Learning Facilitator, Rotaractor Sunday Emmanuel Ogunmoye (Rotaract Club of Abeokuta), expressed optimism about the district’s preparedness: "From what we’ve seen today, officers have planned ahead to ensure the district grows stronger. Everyone is committed to driving our activities forward and fostering unity."  


He emphasized DRRE Awesu’s vision for skill development: "This year, we’re prioritizing empowerment equipping Rotaractors with skills before engaging in service. Additionally, the revival of the DRR Cup will foster camaraderie not just within our district but across others, truly uniting us for good."


Rotaractor Ruhamah Ifere, Chairperson of Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution, outlined innovative initiatives, "Our peacebuilding agenda includes a Media Boot Camp for youths (14-24 years), teaching digital literacy for social good, and a ‘Storytelling for Peace’ contest. Peace is essential when conflicts arise. Sustainable development thrives only where peace is nurtured."


Rotaractor Emmanuel Victor, the incoming District Conference Chairperson, shared excitement about "Iwalẹwa" the upcoming district conference in Abeokuta: "We’re reigniting Rotaractors’ passion by curating unforgettable experiences. Our goal is to re-engage members through impactful programs that leave lasting memories."  


DRRE Awesu reinforced his transformative agenda in his keynote address: "We envision a district where young leaders connect through innovation, driving meaningful change. We’re not just a district. We’re a movement of united change-makers committed to transforming communities."


Key priorities for 2025-2026 include: Empowerment: Skills training and mentorship for Rotaractors. Expansion: Increasing clubs and membership to a minimum of 100 Rotaractors. Unity: Strengthening collaboration through events like the DRR Cup.


With a clear roadmap and energized leadership, Rotaract District 9111 is poised for a groundbreaking year, uniting Rotaractors under a shared mission of service, growth, and innovation.
