Nigerian lawyer and human rights advocate Deji Adeyanju has demanded swift action from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) following shocking allegations of a N71.2 billion fraud in student loan funds.

In a fiery statement on Thursday, Adeyanju accused corrupt officials of looting money meant for struggling students and challenged the ICPC to stop acting "powerless" against high-profile offenders.

Adeyanju condemned the alleged mismanagement under the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), calling it a slap in the face to millions of students battling financial hardship.

"At a time when Nigerian youths are desperate for quality education, the theft of N71.2 billion meant for student loans is unforgivable. This isn’t just corruption—it’s a direct attack on the future of our nation," he declared.

While praising the ICPC for launching a probe, Adeyanju insisted the agency must go further—naming, arresting, and prosecuting every individual or institution involved.

"The ICPC must ensure no one escapes justice. Only full accountability will restore Nigerians’ trust in this vital scheme," he stressed.

The scandal has sparked nationwide anger, with many demanding answers: Who stole the money? Will they be punished? And how can such fraud be prevented in the future?

Adeyanju’s bold stance adds pressure on authorities to act—fast. Will the ICPC deliver justice, or will this become another buried corruption case?
