Hon. Babatunde Hunpe |
Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, the former House of Representatives member representing Badagry Federal Constituency, has appealed to Badagry people to allow him to use his wealth of experience to turn Badagry around, as he aspires for Chairmanship seat of the Local government come 2025.
Hunpe disclosed this to journalists on Sunday at the celebration of the birth of prophet Muhammad, held at Povita, Badagry, Lagos State.
The former lawmaker said he has served in the state and in the federal office, where he had gathered wealth of experience, which is needed for the development of Badagry Local Government.
"I've served in the cabinet of Lagos State twice. I know the integrity of the government, system, and management. I also thank the good people of Badagry for allowing me to serve as their representative at the federal level, and I've seen things there. Now I'm back home seeking their support as the chairman of Badagry Local Government.
"I am ready to serve, and I want the people to give this opportunity. I've had the experience in state management, and I've had the experience at the legislative chamber. Let me put this to use in the office of chairman; we want to turn things around.
"Those who followed me when I was in the House of Representatives will know that, in my little way, we did our best and I can raise my head to say that anywhere. My four years is seen as two years, because my first year was in court, the following year was Covid-19, and the third year was election year. Despite all that, go and check the records the number of projects I have brought to Badagry is there for people to see. My effort to make sure the Badagry expressway is done is there for people to see," he said.
He further said that Badagry residents should further embrace love for one another, that this is what Jesus Christ did for every believer.
