Mrs. Dayo Ekong, the Labour Party chairman Lagos State chapter, has debunked the news that stated that she was challenging the authority of the state chairman, Julius Abure.
A blog post published by Eagles Foresight had stated that "the newly ‘kangaroo’ elected national financial secretary and former state chairman of Labour Party in Lagos State, Dayo Ekong, has publicly told his master, Julius Abure, to grant her freedom to lead Lagos."
In a press statement made available to journalists on Saturday, by Labour Party Lagos State chapter stated that: It has come to my attention that a recent article authored by a certain faceless and unknown blogger, one Olamilekan Hameed, has falsely claimed that Dayo Ekong, the Labour Party chairman Lagos State, is at loggerheads with the National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure.
I categorically state that these allegations are entirely baseless and are nothing more than fabrications by opposition elements aiming to sow discord within the Labour Party.
I have always maintained a cordial and cooperative relationship with Barrister Julius Abure. Our mutual goal has been and continues to be the progress and unity of the Labour Party.
Any claims suggesting otherwise are outright lies intended to mislead the public and disrupt the harmonious workings of our party. I urge our members and supporters to disregard these unfounded allegations and remain focused on our collective mission.
It is evident that this is a strategic ploy by those who feel threatened by the growing strength and influence of the Labour Party. Unfortunately, they seek to mislead the innocent ones who just want a better society.
We must remain focused at this crucial times and not be distracted by petty and mischievous elements who have no role to play in nation building. Let us remain united and steadfast in our commitment to the ideals and principles that our party stands for.
Together, we will overcome any attempts to destabilize our unity and continue to work towards a better future for all.
Forward Ever!!!!
Pst.Dr(Mrs) Dayo Ekong
Chairman, Labour Party
Lagos state
