The Senate has replaced Senator Ali Ndume as Chief Whip with Mohammed Monguno, who represents Borno North, on Wednesday.

In a recent television appearance, Mr Ndume, who represents Borno South senatorial district, attacked President Bola Tinubu's government as being full of looters, adding he was ashamed to be a prominent member of the ruling party.

The Borno lawmaker had earlier stated that Mr Tinubu was "caged" and out of touch with reality, while hunger ravaged the nation under his watch, and that he was surrounded by sycophants.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio was motivated to make the resolution to remove Mr Ndume after receiving a letter of complaint from the All Progressives Congress' National Working Committee, which was displeased with the senator's repeated criticisms of Mr Tinubu's administration.

The development on Wednesday might further complicate matters inside the ruling APC, which has experienced divisions among its members on the right course for the country.

Poverty has worsened across the country under Mr Tinubu, with Mr Ndume accusing the administration of neglecting to realise how dire things had become in recent months. Mr Tinubu fiercely denied corruption claims and stated that his team would continue to handle the current problems sensibly.

"We believed in Renewed Hope." However, as I have stated, I speak the truth. This administration is failing because it is now led by kakistorcrats. "Kakistocrats is a government led by the worst, least qualified, and most unscrupulous citizens," Mr Ndume remarked on Arise TV last Friday. "This government is run by kakistocrats and kleptocrats."

On July 10, while speaking to media at the National Assembly complex, Mr Ndume claimed that Mr Tinubu's sycophants and aides were concealing the true destitute situation of the nation from him. He warned that a food crisis was on the horizon, with disastrous consequences if not addressed.

"Mr President is not in the picture of what is going on outside the villa. He's been fenced off and confined. On July 10, Mr Ndume stated, "So many of us will not engage him through the backdoor."

"Now they have stopped him from talking and he doesn't have public affairs managers, except for his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, who writes press statements," the member representing Borno South stated.

"Food is unavailable. The food crisis is the worst thing any country can face. "If we add that to the security crisis, it will be severe," Mr Ndume said.

Mr Ndume did not immediately respond to a request for remarks from Peoples Gazette about his removal, which was purportedly planned by Mr Tinubu's allies, led by Mr Akpabio.
