Peener Paul Foundation, in partnership with WeDey4U, has announced Kit The Child initiative, a project to provide school bags and books to 1,000 primary school pupils in Somolu by September.
This was disclosed on Monday at the visit to the office of Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, Local government chairman of Somolu Local Government, where the team seeks the partnership and support of the chairman.
Hon. Salawu expressed strong support for the initiative, recognizing its potential to ease the financial burden on parents and enhance the pupils' preparedness for the new school term. He also commended the Peener Paul Foundation and the WeDey4U Initiative for their commitment to improving the lives of residents in the Somolu Local Government Area.
In a proactive move, Chairman Dullar established a three-member committee to collaborate with the 'Kit The Child' team. The committee comprises Prince Adeeso Adesina (Special Adviser on Education), Hon. Lateef Ashimi (Councillor and Chairman, House Committee on Education), and Owolabi 'Ajimomuya' Oseni (Chief Press Secretary). This committee is tasked with reviewing the project's implementation plan and providin necessary guidance.
Other members of the Coordinating Team present at the meeting included Adedoyin Peener Paul, Kelvin Okeme, Funmilayo Hundeyin, and Theophilus Agada (Project Photographer). Chairman Dullar assured the team of his unwavering support and reaffirmed that Somolu is always ready to advance educational initiatives.
