Honorable Sesi Whingan, representing Badagry Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has been recognized as one of the top 10 best performing House of Representatives members from Lagos State by Lagos Reporters.
The report was made available to News Peddlers on Wednesday, which stated that the honorable member has made significant strides in his legislative and constituency duties, distinguishing himself as a dedicated and effective leader. Among his numerous achievements are the sponsorship of over 14 bills, reflecting his commitment to legislative excellence and the development of his Constituency.
In a press release signed by the media team of the honorable member, Hon. Whingan, was said to be the youngest person ever elected to the House of Representatives from Lagos State, who has served in the National Assembly for less than thirteen months as a first-time representative. He is currently ranked tenth among the 24 members from Lagos State.
The press statement reads: According to the Lagos-based medium, the ranking is based on "comprehensive evaluation measures the overall effectiveness of these representatives in driving development within their respective constituencies."
"Our ranking is based on a blend of primary and secondary data. Field agents gathered verified information directly from constituencies, complemented by secondary data collected by our dedicated volunteers. Additionally, we conducted an online poll to gauge the acceptability and performance of the representatives across the state, ensuring a holistic and inclusive assessment.
"The aim of this ranking is to provide Lagosians with a clear and transparent view of how well their elected officials are performing. By highlighting both the achievements and areas for improvement, we hope to foster accountability and encourage continuous development within Lagos State. Lagos Reporters."
Key accomplishments of Hon. Whingan include the facilitation of the proposed University of Technology in Badagry and the Nigerian Customs University, also in Badagry. He has also played a pivotal role in the establishment and upgrade of the Nigerian French Language Village in Badagry, through a national assembly act.
In addition to his legislative achievements, Hon. Whingan has focused on youth employment, scholarships, and social welfare programs. His initiatives have provided numerous opportunities for the young people of Badagry, enhancing their prospects and contributing to the overall development of the community. Furthermore, he has ensured the continuous provision of free NIN registration for Badagry residents, improving access to essential services.
