Mr. Solomon Saanu Bonu, House of Assembly Member representing Badagry Constituency I, has hosted the 2023 Lagos State University LASU graduates from Badagry Federation ahead of National Youth Service Corps NYSC CAMP resumption.
The media team of Mr. Bonu disclosed that the event was held on Tuesday at Lagos State University campus, Ojo.
At the event, the honorable member gave the participants orientation camp transport allowance, gift packs, and food items.
Barrister Emmanuel Sunday Kappo, who represented Mr. Bonu, gave a welcome address, congratulating the students on their recent convocation ceremony. He said, in fulfilment of the political promises Mr. Bonu made during his campaign is to prioritize student welfare. "He had promised to assist graduates in finding jobs in both the public and private sectors after completing their NYSC." Mr. Kappo urged the graduates to serve as positive ambassadors for Lagos and Badagry. Bonu's actions align with his campaign promises, demonstrating his commitment to supporting students and graduates.
Prof. Henry Hunjo, a LASU lecturer who was also present, admonished the graduates to be time conscious at every opportunity given to them, to have initiatives that provide solutions to problems, and how to navigate through NYSC.
Mr. Olawale Samuel Kappo, Senior Special Assistant to Mr. Governor of Lagos State on Students Union Affairs, Tertiary Institutions, said, they prioritise their relationships with people, with connections being built by youths as they grow. He also encouraged the graduates to put in more effort to build themselves for future purposes.
Mr. Makiss Endurance, one of the beneficiaries, shared his challenges and success story. Despite losing his parents while in school, he was able to graduate successfully with a first class degree.
