Azinath Oyinkonsola Agbogunlori, a 12-year-old girl, went missing in Iragon community, Badagry, Lagos State, on Sunday, June, 23, 2024.

Morof Matonmi, the guidan of Azinath, who spoke with News Peddlers, said, "We were cooking on Sunday when the cooking gas finished. At about 10am we told her to go and refill the gas cylinder, just a few distance from home. After two hours, we could not see her. I went to check on her where she went to fill the gas, only to discover that the gas station was not open and she was nowhere to be found. She has been staying with me for the past eight years, and she has been an obedient child.

A passerby who saw Azinath said, she saw Azinath when she left the gas station talking to an unidentified young man on her way home, "I thought she was speaking with someone she knows within the community."

Speaking with the owner of the gas shop, he said he had gone to church by the time Azinath came to his chop. "I know her very well as my customer, but I had not opened my shop when she came, I opened later in the evening that day."

The parents, relatives, and friends of Azinath staged a peaceful awareness walk through the surrounding communities on Monday to inform the people about the disappearance of the girl.

At the time this story was gathered on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, no one had heard anything about the whereabouts of Azinath. This is to call public attention to the unfortunate incident.
