David Sunday Aladeotan, coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Badagry West LCDA and a junior SA to the Badagry West chairman on youth and student matters, have been awarded youth advocacy of the year 2023.
At the ceremony on Friday, Aladeotan told News Peddlers that the Badagry West Meritorious Award is a great innovation born out of creativity of the pioneer Mego Monday.
The idea emanated two years ago to recognize the contributions of notable individuals in the LCDA and to celebrate relentless and sincere efforts.
"In the previous year, I was awarded youth advocacy, and this year again, I got nominated, and I was also awarded for that same position." He appreciated those who nominated and voted for him.
"The award is not for me; it goes to the youths that have been supporting me and the stakeholders of Badagry West LCDA that have been giving me support.
"I will urge my colleagues to keep on focusing, no matter the rejection or shortcoming. Let's keep hope alive as the leaders of today. Many might be observing, and I believe one day we will surely get there. As young people, we need to continue to project effectiveness, patriotism, and honesty in all we do so that together we can build an egalitarian society for all," he added.
