Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, has praised the potential of Nigerian youths while wishing Nigerian leaders would make painful sacrifices to help them achieve greatness.
Mr Obi shared this on Twitter while congratulating two Nigerian students on their academic achievements at Russian universities.
"I congratulate Okoro Benjamin Nzutechukwu and Solomon Ekene Okeke, two Nigerians who have recently made the country proud with their academic achievements at Russian universities."
"According to reports, Mr Nzutechukwu received a First Class Honours in Pharmacy from Voronezh University in Russia, while Mr Okeke was named the Best Graduating Student 2023 at RUDN University in Moscow, Russia."
“While I celebrate their academic feats, I also celebrate the same potential for greatness existing in every Nigerian youth, waiting for the right investments in human development. This can be achieved if our leaders will be willing to go through discomfort and make much-needed painful sacrifices for the good of the nation,” Mr Obi said.
Mr Obi wished the two Nigerian students well and urged them to be good ambassadors for their country.
"I wish Benjamin and Solomon the best of luck in their endeavours and urge them to continue to be good ambassadors for our country and to keep our flag flying higher," Mr Obi added.
