Tiwa Savage, an Afrobeats artist, has claimed that she was recently the target of a botched kidnapping attempt, corroborating the first media allegations regarding a potential security breach at the musician's Lagos home.
According to a statement released by the musician's team on Friday, "Following recent reports online, we can confirm that on Thursday, April 13, 2023, there was a significant security breach at the residence of musician Tiwa Savage."
A domestic worker and a driver at Tiwa Savage's Lagos home are accused of divulging information to other conspirators, according to initial reports on Thursday.
They had been pursuing the musician for days. However, it is now official that the suspects have been taken into custody.
"Several suspects were apprehended and are being jailed at the Alagbon Police Station in Ikoyi while the case is being investigated." The message also said that Ms. Savage and her family were secure.
The singer also sent a statement on her verified Instagram profile thanking everyone for their support and messages following the incident, assuring the followers that "all is well".
