A false job posting attributed to the Federal Civil Service Commission that is now spreading on social media has been disowned by the organisation.
Dr. Mary Ogbe, the commission's permanent secretary, said this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
According to Ms. Ogbe, the commission did not create the false job posting with the title "FCSC recruitment 2023/2024" that is currently spreading on social media.
The commission's management wants to let everyone know that the claimed recruitment drive is a complete hoax.
"The author of this fake story listed several steps/requirements for recruitment into the civil service, using his www.recruitmentfile.net to peddle his antics of misinforming the general public, particularly desperate job seekers."
Ms. Ogbe reiterated the commission's prior disclaimer that the Government has not yet lifted the prohibition or embargo on hiring for the Federal Civil Service.
"In addition, the Commission has a long-standing tradition of announcing such a nationwide exercise through newspapers, television, and radio stations rather than social media.
The general public is therefore told, "for clarification and emphasis, that the advertised recruitment on social media is untrue and should, therefore, be ignored and disregarded," Ms. Ogbe added.
