The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps' Ondo State Command has deployed 1,250 operatives to provide security before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.
In a statement issued in Akure on Friday, the commandant, Olayinka Olatundun, stated that the operatives would protect critical national assets and infrastructures, worship and recreational centres, shopping malls, and other vulnerable locations.
"Intelligence and Investigation Department personnel will mingle with members of the public, particularly at hotspots, to elicit useful information."
"To neutralise any security threat, our motorised unit will patrol the streets, public gatherings, and motor parks." "Our marine squad will be on high alert as well to secure the waterways," he added.
Mr Olatundun went on to say that because security was a collective responsibility, the command was working with sister security agencies to ensure the safety of people and property throughout the holiday season.
He urged revellers to celebrate responsibly and to remember to imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ, the reason for the season.
