70-year-old man rapes 4,7-year-old In Adamawa

Usman Ibrahim, a 70-year-old father of three from Adamawa, was arrested for raping two children in his neighbourhood.

SP Sulaiman Nguroje, a police spokesman in Yola, said in a release on Friday that Mr. Ibrahim lured the minors into his room not far from their residence and had carnal knowledge of them. The children were on their way to class when he approached them, according to the police.

The suspect lives alone after splitting up with his family ten years ago.

After noticing that his children were experiencing unusual pains while attempting to urinate, the survivors' father reported the incident to the Jimeta police division.

Adamawa police commissioner Afolabi Babatola has directed operatives and the state CID's family support unit to take over the investigation for thorough prosecution.

The police chief advised parents and guardians to be wary of anyone who gains access to their children or wards and to report any suspicious individuals in their vicinity.
