With only two days until the presidential and federal parliamentary elections, a police detachment of about 30 officers has arrived at INEC's headquarters office in Lagos to beef up security around the facilities.
The fully armed operatives arrived at the INEC office at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with their weapons and luggage, while INEC was busy loading Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in trucks to various local government areas in Lagos.
When the police officers arrived, they began chanting various songs to announce their presence for election duty.
The Central Bank of Nigeria delivered sensitive materials for Saturday's presidential and parliamentary elections to INEC in Lagos on Wednesday.
The commission had also begun distributing the materials to Lagos's 20 local government areas.
On Saturday, the presidential and federal parliamentary elections will take place.
