According to APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu, if Bola Tinubu is elected president, the party will make Nigeria the largest economy in the world. Mr Tinubu, a former Lagos governor, is running for president in Saturday's election.
"In this regard, we assure you that the APC remains committed to implementing ideas that will keep Nigeria as the largest economy in Africa," Mr Adamu said.
He made the remarks while speaking with journalists about the party's prospects in Abuja on Wednesday.
"The APC is fully prepared and ready to run in this election. For us as a party, the only outcome of this election is victory. We have worked extremely hard. "No party has been able to mount a strong campaign like the APC," said the party's chair. "I am confident that the efforts we have put into this campaign will result in electoral victories."
He urged party supporters and agents to conduct themselves peacefully and with caution in the polls. Mr Adamu also expressed confidence that if elected president, Mr Tinubu would give Nigerians renewed hope.
"We told Nigerians to have faith in Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's ability to bring them renewed hope," the APC chair added. I assure every Nigerian that the next APC administration will not only build on the monumental achievements of the previous eight years, but will also pave the way for new areas of development in the country."
He went on to say that, in keeping with its commitment to a peaceful electoral system, the APC ran an issue-based campaign free of mudslinging and other provocative acts.
Mr Adamu stated that the party is focused on issues that affect Nigerians and that it has everything it takes to reset the country.
