It was gathered that Alao who drive the coastal bus from Idumota going to Orile area of the state on December 21, 2022, on getting to Custain the vehicle broke down.

News Peddlers learnt that in the process of repairing the vehicle, LASTMA officers around Oshodi area came with some thugs and a towing van to take the bus away.

The driver told our correspondent that in the process of insisting that they won't take the bus away, the thugs broke bottle on his head and stabbed the conductor on his arm.

Aloa said after reporting the case nothing was done as the officers deny their involvement.

"When we loaded our bus at Idumota going to Orile our bus broke down at Custain, some guys came around to ask what happened, after explaining to them we told the guys to help us push it to the read side to avoid arrest of the LASTMA officials. The guys helped us and we gave them some money. We spent an hour before we could get a mechanic to check the vehicle, he was still under the vehicle when the LASTMA Officers came with towing van to take my bus away.

"I then stood at the front of the vehicle insisting that they won't take it away because it was not wrongly parked. Two of the thugs that followed them came to me with bottles in their hands forcing me to allow them to take the vehicle away.

"In the process, one of them broke the bottle on my head, and before I could defend myself the second guy broke another bottle on my head. When my conductor attempts defending me, he was stabbed on his arm. By the time the LASTMA saw both of us bleeding so much, they took their vehicles and ran away.

"When we got to the police station at Iponri they gave us a note to go and treat ourselves in the hospital, and that we should come back after the treatment.

Police statement given to Alao to go and treat himself in the hospital

"When I was about to leave the hospital my friend called the Oshodi Lasama PRO who told us to come, after explaining to the PRO I was asked if I have any evidence. I told them I don’t have any evidence but I know their vehicle number which is 216.

"After checking the number they discovered it was Zone 3. The PRO called to inquire about the case, they told the PRO that they were there but didn’t attack us. The PRO then invited them to come that day but they didn’t come," he said.

He added that he has not gone back to the police station because he was still receiving treatment at home.

When asked what he want he said he wants the government to take the right action on this case and bring these officers to book.
