President Muhammadu Buhari and Babajide Sanwo-Olu At the Lekki Deep Sea Port |
President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the Lekki Deep Sea Port on Monday, which can handle 2.5 million twenty-foot standard containers per year.
The president was received by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, and members of the State Executive Council.
Governors Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), as well as former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, Service chiefs, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were among those present to greet the president.
Mr. Buhari inspected the site before departing to commission other projects in the state.
President Buhari will commission the Lekki Deep Seaport, Lagos Rice Mill, Imota, and 18.75-kilometer Eleko-Epe rigid pavement six-lane motorway during his two-day working visit.
Others include the first phase of the Blue Light Rail from Mile Two to Marina, the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, and the MRS Lubricant in Apapa, a private project.
