BREAKING: Scores Injured as thugs Attack Atiku's Convoy

An attack on the campaign motorcade of the People's Democratic Party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in Maiduguri, Borno State, has reportedly injured 74 people.

Mr. Abubakar is in Maiduguri to continue his campaign for the 2023 election.

A viral video trending on social media shows many vandalized vehicles making their way to Ramat Square, the rally's location.

In response to the Maiduguri attack, Dino Melaye, the spokesperson for the PDP campaign council, accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of sponsoring thugs to attack them.

He stated that 74 people had been injured and were being treated in a hospital.

"They wanted to stop us from holding the campaign, and as we speak, 74 people have been injured and hospitalized."

"APC thugs vandalized several vehicles," Mr Melaye said.

Attempts to reach the governor of Borno State's spokesperson were futile because his known phone line was unavailable.

According to the DAILY NIGERIAN, a similar attack was carried out on Mr Abubakar supporters in Kaduna State in October.
