Kebbi Governor Atiku Bagudu has warned internally displaced people (IDPs) in Mahuta and Isgogo of Fakai and Zuru local government areas not to return home until the state's bandits stop terrorizing the people. He claimed that God had predestined their suffering.
On Friday, Mr Bagudu made the call while visiting the IDP camps at Government Day Secondary School, Mahuta, and Model Primary School, Isgogo in Zuru Emirate.
He expressed sympathy to the victims of the bandits' attack and condoled with the families who had lost loved ones in the incident.
"I've come to see you with important personalities and local government officials to express my sympathies." "Take heart, and bear with the situation as Almighty God has decreed," he said.
The governor stated that he had already directed that relief materials be distributed and that additional security measures be implemented in all affected areas.
"You will be assisted by the government," Mr Bagudu added. You remain here until it is safe to return. We are taking additional precautions to protect your lives and property."
The governor, on the other hand, warned of the dangers of spreading rumors and false information, which he said could further instill fear in state residents.
Mr Bagudu also paid a visit to the palace of Mahuta's chiefdom, Muhammad Hudu, and commiserated with the community leader. He also met with the chairs of the LGs, councilors, and other stakeholders.
