Toviho Olayemi Monday also known as OBJ, is the Aspirant for House of Representatives Member, Badagry Federal Constituency under PDP, he met with PDP party leaders of ward E and D at Aivoji yesterday 19 April.
OBJ was accompanied by youths from various wards and political leaders from Ajara Badagry, people had addressed him as a steadfast member of the party, he went to Abuja through the former House of Representatives Member and the current Deputy National Secretary Hon. Setonji Koshoedo in 2003, Since then till date he remained an active Legiislative Aide.
In his address he pointed out that the youths are not leaders of tomorrow anymore rather leaders of today, and now is the time to take over. we can still make Nigeria great again. Seeing his presence among the political leaders as an opportunity, he expressed his gratitude.
“I can remember I’m part of those that brought PDP to Badagry in 1998, today I’m here before you to seek for your support to further my political aspiration, I’m vying for political office for the first time to represent Badagry in Abuja, record has it that Hon. Kosh remains an outstanding representative in Badagry so far, I also contributed to the success of his achievements. Despite that, PDP had represented Badagry just once, we hold a distinct record in bringing development to Badagry.”
“I have worked with several honorable members since Hon. Kosh left office, I worked with Former Speaker to the House of Representatives Hon. Tambuwal as Aide attached to the SSA Menbers Affairs and several others till date, and I can say categorically that after Hon. Koshoedo,none of the Representatives has represented us well in Badagry. Most of them had turned the office of House of Representatives to a tourist centre or a place to retire.”
“Our border is the most viable border in Nigeria but we are not gaining anything because those representing us are full of selfish interest.
“I’m telling you confidently that all these abnormalities will be corrected in my first year in office, I have spent 19 years in national assembly as a legislative aide and I know where and when to make things work, due to my years of experience.”
“After Hon Kosh tenyre in office, I have made myself available to other house of representatives members representing Badagry despite that they are not from my party which I have gladly put them through because I’m there for the good of Badagry.”
The former PDP LGA chairman, Elder James Joshua in his address said “OBJ is my son, I can vouch for him he’s very obedient, when I was the chairman he was a very active member, he has really served Badagry, he deserves the position he’s aspiring for, this is his time to finish what he has started for several years.” Badagry West is his home and we are ever ready to identify with him.
Hon. Tunde Hunpatin also a former LGA party chairman and secretary, “We are here to enlighten ourselves” he said, “various youths will say they have not seen the result of the politics so far, I look at them as they are not enlightened enough, because we have to be active in politics to see the dividend.”
“I can say out of all the aspirants OBJ is the only one that is available to his people despite that politics today is more pragmatic than ever”. Speaking to OBJ “you have to work on how to make people know what you have for them, so that we can be successful in this race”.
“You need to let people know how effective you can work and what you have to offer them”. He added.
“Our suffering in Badagry must come to an end now, our people have not been representing us well. I have been there I know what to do and how to do it”.
“I’m saying it with all sense of responsibility that I will deliver the best to Badagry. I was named OBJ by the people due to how committed I was when the former President Olusegun Obasanjo contested as the president, and till date I’m still active and ready to give the best to Badagry.” OBJ said.
