Japan has withdrawn about I.6million dose of COVID-19
vaccine Moderna Inc’s, from use due to the report of contamination, It was disclosed
by the ministry of health, In the early hours of today.
In a report of Nikkei, an announcement was made by the ministry
stating that, numerous vaccine centres have reported that the vaccine contained
foreign matter. Meanwhile the ministry said it will look at how to maximize the
effect of the withdrawal on getting the people vaccinated.
Speaking with Nikkei, a Moderna spokesman said the contamination
was a manufacturing issue at its plant in Spain.
“The company is investigating the reports and remains committed to working transparently and expeditiously with it’s partner, Takeda, and regulators to address any potential concerns”. The spokesman said.
