In September 2026, a story was published by News Peddlers when Manoah Kikekon went undercover to investigate the extortion going on in the office of Mrs. Hope Omono Enenmoh, the Commander of National Population Commission (NPC) Badagry, where her mode of operation was revealed on how she extorts residents for both birth and death certificates and how this extortion has prevented kids from going to school as their parents couldn't afford the charges; this has now led to the suspension of Enenmoh.
After the investigative report, I got a call from the Department of State Services (DSS) inquiring about the genuineness of my information, and I gave more evidence to indicate the genuineness of the information I had already put in black and white, letting him know that I have decided not to publish all the evidence I have on my desk concerning the atrocities of the woman at the helm of affairs in the Badagry branch office.
Be that as it may, I got uncountable calls a couple of days later, most of which I can consider as threats to life. Even though I would still prefer to keep the identities of some of the callers, I could recall getting calls from one Ibrahim Sewanu Josugbo, who claimed my report has led to the suspension of the ad-hoc staff of Enenmoh and that if I didn't remove her part from the story, he will personally deal with me. In response, I told him there’s nothing I can do about that story because I had evidence.

Moreover, after the publication of the report, it was revealed by a chief in Badagry who prefers to remain anonymous. He said, and I quote... “this same Enenmoh has been summoned to the Akran Palace (the paramount ruler) sometime this year, where she was warned on the level of ongoing extortion in her office. Initially, we wanted to summon her to the presence of all chiefs, but after it was discussed and a committee was set up to address her matter, which was done, she did not stop.”
Be that as it may, another source said, “In the course of the state body questioning Enenmoh based on the information revealed by the investigation, Enenmoh might have claimed that some other staffs in Badagry must have supported the investigation, which prompted the NPC State Office to summon all the staff in Badagry for questioning.”
Investigations have now revealed that attempts are being made to victimize other staffers on the allegations that they must have had a hand in the investigation of their boss.
After the publication, on September 18, 2026, a petition dated September 27 was written to Mr. Odiagbe John O., the Lagos State Director of the National Population Commission, by concerned stakeholders and residents of Badagry Local Government confirming that they are aware of the various extortions happening in the office of Enenmoh, and demanding that the agency "investigates the activities at the Badagry office, ensures that all NPC services designated as free remain free for our people, protects the integrity of the Commission, and restores public confidence."
Information at our disposal has it that sources from the NPC Lagos State office have also revealed that the agency has vowed to make sure that NPC staff found guilty of any level of offense in Badagry would be punished accordingly, no matter how small or how long. This indicates that the punishment is not going to be restricted to Enenmoh alone. This has confirmed the determination of the agency to punish other staff, which could amount to victimization.
Sources close to Enenmoh have confirmed her determination not to go down alone, but to make sure as many as possible under her authority in Badagry will be suspended too, and this could be achieved by fabricating offenses against the staff.
What is, however, not clear to Madam Enenmoh is that the lens of the camera had been on her for so long and lots of evidence had been kept for a time like this.
The people are already on the lookout to know how the story of her extortion will be managed.
This medium is on top of the story as more evidence will be unveiled should the innocent staffers be victimized.
