Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende the Lagos Commissioner for youth and social development, has crowned winners at the grand finale of Street Got Talent 2026.
The event was held at Ikotun Roundabout Lagos State on Friday, September 18, 2026. The Street Got Talent - This Eko Edition was a full-blown celebration of talent, creativity, and the incredible potential of young Lagosians as the initiative stormed the Ikotun Roundabout for an electrifying showcase featuring young talents who emerged as finalists from across the five divisions of Lagos State (IBILE).
Beyond the music, dance, and creative displays, the grand finale served as a major platform for youth empowerment. Commissioner Mobolaji Ogunlende emphasized that the initiative is designed to reach informal youths across the state, bringing governance and opportunities directly to the grassroots.
“This is more than just a show or a talent hunt. It is another opportunity to identify and amplify raw talents from our streets, engage young people positively, create pathways to meaningful opportunities, and empower and inspire them to become whatever they dream of becoming,” Ogunlende stated.
He further noted that bringing talent discovery closer to the neighborhoods ensures that marginalized or street youths are given a fair chance to succeed.
“By taking talent discovery to the streets, we are creating platforms where young people can be seen, heard, supported, and given the opportunity to turn their passion into purpose,” he added.
Elevating the game for informal and street youths, the event went beyond mere entertainment by offering life-changing material empowerment. Beneficiaries smiled home with Point of Sale (POS) machines, brand new mobile phones, and cash grants to kickstart or scale up small businesses, offering a sustainable path out of economic vulnerability.
Ogunlende extended special appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his unwavering commitment to youth inclusion.
“Special appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his unwavering commitment to supporting young people and promoting inclusivity and opportunities for every young person to thrive, regardless of the barriers they may face,” the commissioner acknowledged.
He also lauded corporate partners and stakeholders including Ace Royal, FCMB, Moniepoint, and the RAK Development Foundation for their invaluable contributions toward making the Eko Edition a historic milestone.
“Together, we are not just discovering talents; we are creating opportunities, changing narratives, and building a generation of young people who know that their dreams are valid,” Ogunlende concluded.
