BADAGRY, LAGOS – In a proactive bid to strengthen grassroots democracy, the Samuel Mawuyon Ajose (SMA) Movement has officially launched a strategic voter mobilization campaign across the Badagry Division. By training and deploying a dedicated team of "PVC Ambassadors," the movement aims to bridge the gap in voter registration ahead of the highly anticipated 2027 general elections.

The initiative, spearheaded by the political movement supporting former Lagos APC governorship aspirant Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose (SMA Gold), seeks to ensure that no eligible resident is left behind in the electoral process. On Thursday, volunteers from Badagry Local Government, Badagry West LCDA, and Olorunda LCDA converged for intensive training on mobilization strategies and electoral engagement.

Dr. Babatunde Mesewaku, Chairman of the SMA Movement, emphasized that the program is designed to complement the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He noted that despite the importance of the Permanent Voter Card (PVC), many residents in marginalized areas remain unregistered.

"We are dispersing all of you to various areas that we have identified as having challenges. The challenge is the inability to reach some communities that have been left unattended to in terms of voter registration," Dr. Mesewaku stated during the training session.

The movement has specifically targeted hard-to-reach, riverine, and interior settlements—such as Gberefu where voter registration figures have historically lagged behind due to geographic and logistical barriers.

To ensure the mission's success, the SMA Movement has invested heavily in the necessary infrastructure and logistical support for the ambassadors. Dr. Mesewaku assured the volunteers that they are fully equipped to reach the most remote parts of the Badagry Federal Constituency.

"These are the equipment that have been procured for this exercise. We are not going to lack anything in terms of logistics. You have been trained and we are on the same page with INEC. We are good to go," he added, underscoring the movement’s collaborative approach with electoral authorities.

The deployment of these ambassadors marks a significant step in the SMA Movement’s broader commitment to civic education and democratic inclusion. By bringing the registration process and awareness directly to the doorstep of the people, the movement hopes to significantly increase voter turnout in the upcoming electoral cycle.
