BADAGRY, LAGOS STATE – A tragic accident in the early hours of Saturday morning has claimed one life after a truck lost control and crashed into pedestrians at the Roundabout in Badagry, Lagos State.
The incident was reported to have occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025. According to eyewitness accounts, the truck veered off its path, striking individuals in the vicinity.
The deceased has been identified simply as Keji. Preliminary reports from the scene indicate that the victim was asleep on a bench near the roundabout when the out-of-control truck crushed her. An eyewitness at the location confirmed the fatality, stating, "A lady named Keji, who was sleeping on the bench, was killed in the incident."
While official causes are still under investigation, initial sources suggest the truck driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. This alleged lapse in consciousness is believed to have caused the driver to lose control of the heavy vehicle, leading to the devastating crash.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the accident. The Lagos State Police Command is anticipated to provide details on the crash, including the exact circumstances and any potential actions against the driver, once their preliminary investigation is complete.
