The security forces have successfully rescued Mrs. Ladi Abel, the wife of a Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officer, who was kidnapped by gunmen along the Badagry-Lagos Expressway. The daring rescue mission, which unfolded late Tuesday night, culminated in a swampy area of Ibereko, Badagry, Lagos State, bringing a harrowing 48-hour ordeal to an end.
The joint team, comprising officers from the Nigeria Police Force and the NIS, was spearheaded by CSP Folajimi Akosile, the vigilant Divisional Police Officer of the Badagry Police Station, who coordinated the efforts to track the kidnappers to their hideout.
While specific details of the the number of arrests made remain undisclosed pending further investigation, authorities have confirmed that the operation was executed successfully without harm to the rescued victim.
The rescue of Mrs. Abel in Ibereko highlights the ongoing security challenges on major expressways in the region and underscores the critical importance of inter-agency collaboration.
