BADAGRY, LAGOS – In a significant show of respect and solidarity, Professor Paul-Sewa Thovoethin, a prominent political science scholar and the Convener of the Badagry for Lagos Governor 2025 movement, has extended warm felicitations to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Oladele Friday Kosoko, JP, FMHR, Ogundeyi II, the Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
The congratulatory message was formally issued in a press release made available to news outlets, including News Peddlers, this Saturday.
In it, Prof. Thovoethin lauded the monarch, describing him as one of the most revered and impactful traditional rulers in the entire Badagry division, citing his profound political influence and unwavering dedication to community development.
“It is with immense joy that we join in the celebration of this remarkable milestone in Baba's distinguished life,” the statement read. The professor highlighted that Kabiyesi’s reign as the Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom has been uniquely defined by an admirable blend of dedication, wisdom, and tireless service to the good people of his domain.
Prof. Thovoethin specifically pointed to the monarch’s unwavering commitment to fostering progress, unity, peace, and holistic development, noting that these efforts have made a profound and positive impact on the lives of citizens not only within the Iworo community but also across the wider Badagry region. This leadership, he asserted, has been a cornerstone for stability and growth.
“Oniworo's leadership and vision have set an exemplary standard for others to follow,” the release continued. The convener of the influential Badagry for Lagos Governor 2025 group emphasized that as the entire community of Iworo, Olorunda LCDA, and Badagry Local Government at large observes this significant day, it is an opportunity to recognize the positive influence the king continually exerts.
Prof. Thovoethin expressed the community's collective wish for the monarch. “Our wish and prayers for you Kabiyesi is that you will live long on the throne of your forefathers in good health and prosperity, with Solomonic wisdom to continue to impact our people and the society at large,” he added.
