The historic town of Badagry is basking in the spotlight as two of its native sons, the Hundeyin brothers, have been appointed to the highest echelons of police public relations in Nigeria. Their simultaneous rise to become the chief spokespersons for key sections of the Nigeria Police Force has become a potent source of pride and a talking point across the country.

The Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, who was this month appointed by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). This pivotal role makes CSP Hundeyin the primary image maker and official voice for the entire Nigeria Police Force (NPF). He is now tasked with managing the complex communication landscape for one of Africa's largest police institutions, a role he is widely expected to excel in given his proven track record.

Before his historic promotion to Force PRO, he was the highly effective and media-savvy Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson. During his tenure in Lagos, he earned the respect of journalists and the public alike for his eloquence, accessibility, and proactive approach to disseminating information, setting a new standard for police-media relations in the country's most populous state.

His younger brother, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Isaac Sewanu Hundeyin. Earlier, ASP Hundeyin was appointed as the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ports Authority Police (PAP) Western Command in Lagos. As a trained psychologist, he brings a unique skill set to the role, effectively acting as the critical communication bridge for one of Nigeria's most vital security units, responsible for safeguarding the nation's key economic gateway.

The Hundeyin brothers are proud indigenes of Badagry, Lagos State, and alumni of the Lagos State University (LASU). They hail from a respected family in the community known for producing a lineage of professionals, scholars, and top public servants. Their appointments have ignited conversations about Badagry's rich but often overlooked history of contributing exceptional talent to the nation's fabric, dating back to its significant role in Nigeria's pre and post-colonial era.

For the residents of Badagry, the success of the Hundeyin brothers transcends personal achievement. They have become powerful symbols of resilience, educational pursuit, and dedicated public service values deeply ingrained in the town's identity. Their story serves as an inspiration to the youth, proving that with dedication and excellence, origin from any community can be a launchpad to national prominence and service.
