Comfort Emmanson |
In a stunning reversal, Comfort Emmanson the passenger whose violent altercation with Ibom Air staff made national headlines could soon become the face of good behavior for Nigerian airlines.
The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) is reportedly in talks to appoint the formerly unruly traveler as a conduct ambassador, just days after she was detained for her explosive mid-flight meltdown.
Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, revealed the unexpected development, noting that Emmanson has expressed remorse. “She’s being considered to help promote better passenger conduct,” he stated, adding that she has since been released from Kirikiri Prison. The move mirrors FAAN’s recent appointment of Fuji star KWAM1 who infamously delayed a ValueJet flight as an airport ambassador.
Facing criticism over the unconventional appointments, Keyamo argued that using reformed rule-breakers as advocates is a global practice. “This isn’t a paid role—it’s community service,” he stressed, comparing it to past initiatives where ex-offenders publicly denounced their misconduct.
Both Emmanson and KWAM1 have dominated social media since videos of their airport outbursts spread online. While KWAM1 has apologized, Emmanson’s whereabouts remain unknown since her release raising questions about her potential ambassadorship.
