Abayomi Medemaku Esq., the PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Badagry Local Government, Lagos State, has raised alarm over serious electoral malpractices in Badagry Local Government Election.
In a strongly worded statement, Medemaku revealed shocking cases of double voting allegedly orchestrated by top Lagos State government officials linked to the APC.
Reports from Jegba, Posukoh, Ikoga, Pota, Ajara, Yafin, and Awhanjigoh indicate that APC loyalists were directed to engage in double voting. This scheme was allegedly designed to inflate APC votes and undermine the PDP’s strong lead. Medemaku condemned the act, calling it a desperate move by a failing ruling party.
"Despite deploying massive resources, the APC appears unable to secure victory without electoral fraud." Medemaku expressed disappointment that the ruling party resorted to underhanded tactics rather than competing fairly. He emphasized that Badagry voters have clearly shown their preference for the PDP.
Medemaku boldly stated that "if the election were conducted transparently ten times over, the PDP would emerge victorious each time." He accused APC leaders in Badagry of fabricating false support to impress their Lagos State bosses, knowing they lack genuine grassroots backing.
The PDP candidate also criticized security agencies for ignoring complaints from party agents. "Despite clear evidence of electoral fraud, officials allegedly refused to intervene, raising concerns about possible collusion with the APC." Medemaku urged calm among PDP supporters while evidence is gathered.
"The PDP is already compiling evidence for an election petition, including video footage and witness testimonies." Medemaku praised Badagry voters for bravely supporting the PDP despite threats and intimidation from opposition forces.
"Today’s election will be remembered as a turning point, proving that the PDP cannot be easily bullied out of Badagry. Despite the APC’s financial muscle and underhanded tactics, the people’s will remains strong." The PDP vows to fight for justice and reclaim its rightful mandate.
