Ekiti State, the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) has announced a major leadership reshuffle, with Dr. Olowookere Shayo stepping in as the new Chairman of the Ekiti State Chapter.
The appointment, made by Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, National Vice President of ATPN South West Region, follows a comprehensive review of the chapter’s activities and a strategic restructuring effort aimed at enhancing efficiency and growth.
Dr. Shayo, who previously served as Vice Chairman, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh vision to the role, positioning her as a key driver of tourism innovation in the state.
This leadership transition marks a pivotal moment for Ekiti State’s tourism sector, with Dr. Shayo expected to spearhead initiatives that align with the state’s broader economic and developmental goals.

In his address, Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, ATPN South West VP, charged the new leadership to prioritize collaboration, innovation, and aggressive tourism promotion. He emphasized the need for unity among members, urging them to work collectively toward making Ekiti a top-tier tourism destination.
