Awumenu E.S.O Fisher has officially declared his intention to run for the position of President of the Law Students' Society (LASULAWS) at Lagos State University.

Announcing his candidacy in a public statement on Thursday, Fisher emphasized his commitment to servant leadership, quoting Robert K. Greenleaf: "The servant-leader is servant first.. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead."

With extensive experience in student governance and a clear vision for LASULAWS, Fisher aims to rebrand and reposition the faculty through academic excellence, student welfare, career development, digital transformation, and social impact.

Fisher’s leadership credentials are impressive, having served in multiple capacities across student organizations. He was General Secretary of the National Association of Badagry West Students (NABWES) from 2021–2023, Secretary of the NABADS-LASU Day Committee (2022), and Faculty of Law Representative in the LASUSU Independent Electoral Committee (2023/2024).

Currently, he serves as an Honourable Member in the LASULAW Students’ Representative Council (SRC). These roles have equipped him with the skills and insight needed to lead LASULAWS effectively. "I come with a track record of service, a heart for the people, and a vision to transform," Fisher stated.

Fisher’s campaign is built on five key pillars designed to elevate LASULAWS to new heights, Academic Excellence – Enhancing learning resources and support systems.  Student Welfare & Inclusivity – Ensuring all students feel represented and supported. Career Development & Leadership – Bridging the gap between academia and professional success.  Digital Transformation – Modernizing LASULAWS’ operations for efficiency.  Social Impact – Strengthening the faculty’s role in community development.

"This is leadership beyond student unionism," Fisher declared. "It is leadership that empowers, connects, and uplifts."

Fisher is calling on all law students to rally behind his campaign, urging them to vote, support, and canvass for his presidency. "I need your trust, your support, and your voices," he said.

"Together, we can raise the banner of our dear faculty high." With a strong emphasis on transparency, humility, and results-driven leadership, Fisher’s bid promises a new era for LASULAWS.
