By: Manoah kikekon

The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), South West Region, has unveiled new executive appointments for its Ekiti State Chapter, signaling a fresh push to strengthen tourism development in the region.

The announcement was made public on Monday by the Office of the National Vice President, Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, through his Personal Media Aide, Kikekon Manoah Nunayon.

In a strategic move to enhance operational efficiency, Amb. Bolarinwa Akinwunmi has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Ekiti State Chapter, while Mr. Ojo Abiodun takes on the role of Treasurer.

These appointments follow the recent selection of Dr. Olowookere Shayo as the Chapter’s Chairman, completing a revitalized leadership team poised to drive tourism initiatives across the state.

Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon emphasized that the new appointments are designed to bolster the chapter’s capacity to promote Ekiti State’s rich cultural and eco-tourism potential.

“We are confident that these seasoned professionals will bring fresh energy and innovative strategies to advance our goals,” he stated. The move aligns with ATPN’s broader mission to position Nigeria as a leading tourism destination in Africa.

The newly appointed officials have been urged to leverage their expertise in fostering partnerships, organizing tourism-centric events, and engaging stakeholders to unlock Ekiti’s untapped tourism opportunities. Amb. Bolarinwa Akinwunmi and Mr. Ojo Abiodun bring a wealth of experience, raising expectations for impactful policies and community-driven projects.

"As the Ekiti State Chapter gears up for an active year, industry watchers anticipate increased visibility for the state’s attractions, including waterfalls, festivals, and heritage sites. With a reinforced EXCO team, ATPN is set to play a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s tourism landscape, starting with grassroots development in the South West Region. Stakeholders are encouraged to support the new leadership in achieving sustainable tourism growth." Apata added.
