Babajide Sanwo-Olu |
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is set to host a high-stakes meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and candidates on Tuesday, July 9, in preparation for the upcoming local government elections scheduled for July 12.
The gathering, which will take place at noon at the State House in Marina, aims to unify party stakeholders, including elected officials, appointees, and all APC candidates vying for chairmanship and councillorship positions.
Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, confirmed the meeting in a Sunday statement, describing it as a pivotal moment to mobilize support and strategize for victory.
“This meeting will serve as a rallying point to galvanize our members and ensure a strong showing at the polls,” Oladejo said. He also highlighted the party’s confidence in securing widespread voter backing, citing the APC-led councils’ achievements in education, healthcare, housing, and social welfare.
The ruling party recently presented flags to its 57 chairmanship and 376 councillorship candidates during a campaign kickoff event at the APC secretariat in Ogba, signaling the start of an aggressive push for electoral success.
With Lagos residents set to head to the polls this Friday, the APC is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to maintain dominance in the state’s grassroots governance.
